The Kapatiran-Kaunlaran Foundation Inc. (KKFI), formerly known as the Methodist Social Center (MSC), was founded as a response to the challenge to work among and with the poor in their struggle for genuine human development.

KKFI is an ecumenical, non-profit organization that believes that education is instrumental in helping empower marginalized sectors of Philippine society.

The Kapatiran-Kaunlaran Foundation Inc. (KKFI), formerly known as the Methodist Social Center (MSC), was founded as a response to the challenge to work among and with the poor in their struggle for genuine human development.

KKFI is an ecumenical, non-profit organization that believes that education is instrumental in helping empower marginalized sectors of Philippine society.

Structure and Networks

KKFI is affiliated with the United Methodist Church in the Philippines.

It is governed by a Board of Trustees with fifteen (15) members elected from the General Assembly of 30 members.

As a non-government social development organization, KKFI has established partnership with national and international networks. It is one of the founding members of the National Council for Social Development (NCSD), an umbrella organization of non-government agencies engaged in programs for children and families. Likewise, it is an active member of the Philippine Council for Non-Government Organizations Against Drug and Substance Abuse (PHILCADSA).

The foundation is a member of the Association of Foundations (AF), one of the largest and most respected NGO networks in the country, promoting collaboration, capacity building, and advocacy among non-profit organizations.

The foundation is duly registered with the Philippine Securities and Exchange Commission and registered and licensed by the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD).

It is also a member of OIKOSNET, an international network of lay centers involved in lay training on social issues and poverty alleviation.
