The KKFI Program Department’s Healthcare Management Program aims to improve the health and well-being of Botehan workers and their families by addressing barriers to healthcare access, promoting preventive care, and strengthening local capacity for sustainable health initiatives. Rooted in a rights-based and community-centered approach, the program focuses on occupational health, disease prevention, maternal and child health, mental well-being, and disaster preparedness, critical areas often overlooked in informal labor settings like the Botehan areas in Bulacan or the marginalized communities in Manila.
Additionally, this program includes health mapping, wellness drives, and targeted trainings to address the needs of our target communities. Activities included occupational safety workshops, disaster risk reduction and climate health training, hands-on sessions on blood pressure and glucose monitoring, and reproductive health education with hygiene kit distribution. It also engaged youth volunteers in health education, facilitated peer learning on first aid, and supported the establishment of health stations within Botehan communities. Through coordination with local health professionals and agencies, the program ensured early detection of health issues and expanded access to preventive care.
